A human chain and a protest rally against misinterpretation to installing the sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by a section of fundamentalists and the insulting remarks on Bangabandhu was held at the main road in front of Netrakona Poura Bhavan on Sunday.
The human chain formed and protest rally was organised by Netrakona district unit of Sechchhasebak League where it was addressed, among others, by Sechchhasebak League president Maruf Hasan khan Avru, secretary Khirul Alam Lito, Zila parishad member Bazlur Rashid, Sadar upazila vice-chairman Tuhin Akter, AL labour secretary Muzammel Hossain Tuku, AL women affairs secretary Arpita Khanam Sumi, Chapal Dutta and others.
The speakers strongly criticised the opponents of installing the sculpture of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at different establishments in the country. They warned that there would not have any place in Bangladesh for living any kind of fundamentalists or extremists. The speakers also demanded exemplary punishment against an identified section of fundamentalists and extremists by filing a sedition case who are involved in misleading people about the installment of Bangabandhu's sculpture without further delay.
