Md. Nur Alam, Rupganj
Jamaat-e-Islami Central Working Council Member and Narayanganj Metropolitan Ameer Mao. Abdur Jabbar has said opposition party leaders and activists do not have access to government facilities, but they can still work for the welfare of the people in other ways.
“You are not from the government party. You are from the opposition party. Because you are from the opposition party, you do not have government facilities. You cannot cooperate with the people in that way. But you can do a few things,” he said.
He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion and seminar titled “The Ideals of the Prophet (PBUH) in Building a Non-Discriminatory Society” at the Tarabo Municipal Auditorium in Rupganj on Friday afternoon (August 21).
Mao. Abdul Jabbar said that wherever any party seeks to inflict injustice on the people, they must collectively resist it, which, he said, is the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
“The second task is that they are still involved in embezzling a part of the allocation that comes from the government through various MPs, chairmen, mayors and administrators, as in the past. Wherever we see injustice, we must protest against it. And we will help the people get their rights,” he said.
He further said, “The third point is, since we really want the welfare of the state and the benefit of the people through changes in this society, we cherish and hold the ideals of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). So, if an Islamic social system, a social system of justice, is established, what kind of social changes will there be? What kind of society will the people get? We will go to the doorsteps of the people and deliver these.”
The event was chaired by District Jamaat Acting Ameer Principal Masudur Rahman and moderated by Central Working Council Member and District Secretary Mohammad Hafizur Rahman.
Former District Ameer Mominul Haque Sarkar, District Khelafat Majlis President Maulana Obaidul Quader Qashemi Nadvi, Principal Maulana Abu Bakkar, Maoist Omar Faruk Mujahidi, responsible leaders and activists from different regions of Narayanganj district, local Ulama-e-Keram and dignitaries also addressed the programme. #EK
