Shakib AL Hassan, who celebrated his debut captaincy with wining man of the match award in the second Test in West Indies in 2009, is to leave for that Caribbean Islands today as the team captain for a one-month long tour to play two Test, three ODI and as many T20 cricket matches will start from next week.

However, it might be a coincident of Shakib Al Hassan’s becoming as the captain of Bangladesh team and Jamie Siddon’s taking the charge of the team as the coach, as interestingly all are happening during Bangladesh tour of West Indies.

It is very much fascinating that Shakib Al Hassan, undoubtedly the most celebrity cricketer of Bangladesh reappointed the captain during the Bangladesh tour of West Indies, where he made his Test debut in 2009.

At that time, Shakib was entrusted with the duty to lead the team in the second Test in St George when the then captain of the team Mashrafe Mortaza was forced to be ruled out for injury after the first Test in Kingstown.

Shakib, just flashed his credibility that he is as brilliant enough to lead a Test team as he is bright as a player when he just kept up the momentum of first Test with winning the second one. Shakib looked more flamboyant having the captain’s armband, as he exhibited an amazing all round performances at his debut captaincy with taking eight wickets and scoring an outstanding unbeaten 96 runs off 97 balls (in the second innings).

Shakib, the new captain received the award of man of the match in the second Test and later on was adjudged man of the series for his stunning performances and leading the team from front. Now, again it is a West Indies tour, Shakib Al Hassan is going to lead the team and the team’s coach is Jamie Siddons and thousands of fans obviously are looking forward to watch the repetition of Shakib’s extraordinary virtuosity, as a performer and as a captain.

So far, it is a great opportunity for Shakib al Hasan to bring back the unique momentums of 2009, Bangladesh team celebrated at the West Indies soil led by him.

Whatever and whoever chatting about Shakib, but he proved repeatedly that he never care about criticizes and critics but to concentrate on his responsibility.

In all respects, the tour of West Indies is very much significant for Bangladesh Test team to bounce back from a disaster home series against Sri Lanka and equally substantial for Shakib Al Hassan to make it a remarkable back as a captain.
