The country's mobile operators have lifted the mobile data validity limit. For the first time, Grameenphone, Robi, Teletalk and Banglalink customers are getting the opportunity to purchase unlimited mobile data packages.

Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar unveiled the Mobile Unlimited Data Package and Uninterrupted Monthly Internet Package at Bangaldesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) office in the capital on Thursday.

It was learnt that, initially among the unlimited data packages, Grameenphone subscribers can buy 15 GB packages for Tk 1,099 and 5 GB packages for Tk 449.

Besides, 10 GB internet packs will be available at Tk 319 on Robi, 5 GB at Tk 306 on Banglalink and 26 GB at Tk 309 and 6 GB at Tk 127 on Teletalk can be purchased.

The unlimited data package will remain valid for one year.

BTRC Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikder and representatives of various operators were present on the occasion.

At the same time, Mustafa Jabbar urged the operators to improve the quality of customer service, saying that customers expect quality service more than call or internet service.

The BTRC chairman said that the unlimited data plan was a long standing demand of the people. Today, for the first time, it has been implemented.

On March 15, state-owned mobile service provider Teletalk declared mobile data unlimited.
