An open lottery was held on Tuesday to appoint food-friendly programme dealers in Dinajpur Sadar.
The event took place at 4pm in the auditorium of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer’s office, chaired by UNO Shahin Sultana and moderated by Upazila Food Controller Md Jahiur Islam.
Prominent attendees included BNP General Secretary and former panel mayor Murad Ahmed, District BNP Vice-President and Chamber of Commerce President Alhaj Md Abu Bakar Siddique and officials from various departments.
Out of 38 applicants from 10 unions, 34 dealers were finalised—four through lottery and 30 as single candidates. The recruitment of four remaining dealers was delayed due to document-related issues, expected to be resolved within the next 2–3 days.
