Online training course on Covid-19 for journos held in Khagrachari

An online training course on ‘Covid-19 for Journalists’ has been completed in Khagrachari. The online training course was completed with the participation of 25 working journalists from morning to afternoon on Tuesday. 

The purpose of this online training was to provide journalists with important information about COVD-19 so that they can cope with the epidemic and give them a better idea of how to handle this situation as well as ensure their own safety and security. 

In addition, journalists can play a special role in presenting accurate information about Covid-19 to the general public.

This online training course was made possible by the generous support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under Breakthrough ACTION.

The overall course is being coordinated by the Department of Public Health and Informatics, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Associate Professor Dr. Md. Khalequzzaman, SBCC Advisor, Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs, Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Faisal Mahmud, Outreach Manager of the same organization. F. M. Iqbal and project manager Sharif Hossain Saimum, Secretary general of the Bangladesh Human Rights Journalists Forum (BMSF)’s Khairuzzaman Kamal. In addition, the course is being conducted directly by senior journalists and BMSF communication officers Syed Safi and Shapla Rahman.

Bangladesh Human Rights Journalists Forum (BMSF) is implementing this program by training 500 journalists in 20 districts of Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna, Barisal and Mymensingh till July-September 2020. Earlier, two courses were completed in Chittagong and Cox's Bazar.
