Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi Wednesday said all types of services related to business are being provided online for the convenience of businessmen.

The online licensing module (OLM) would also ease getting the services from the office of export-import, said the minister while opening the OLM services at a ceremony in a city hotel, reports BSS.

Tipu Munshi said businessmen do not need to visit the export-import office to renew the license and get other services as the office of the chief controller of imports and exports is now fully digitalized.

Referring to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s announcement of turning Bangladesh into a digital and middle income country by 2021, he said introduction of OLM pushed Bangladesh one step further.

The commerce minister said Bangladesh is committed to World Trade Organization (WTO) for ensuring paperless services and the country is working to comply it.

With Commerce Secretary Md Mofizul Islam in the chair, chief controller of the office of the chief controller of imports and exports Pranesh Ranjan Sutradhar and former chief controller Afroza Khanam also spoke on the occasion.
