Liberation DocFest has started from Tuesday. The event organized by the Liberation war Museum in the capital, is being held for the eighth time.
Due the coronavirus pandemic, the entire festival can be enjoyed online, the museum authorities said.
In addition to the competitive international and national categories, documentaries are being screened in varius categories at the festival.
Among these, ‘Bangabandhu Muktidata’ and various other documentaries of third world leaders other than national category will be screened. ‘Cinema of the World’ will show the documentaries of various prominent countries of the world.
There will also be ‘One Minute Film’ made by the students and documentary of east India will be screened.
The festival was inaugurated via Zoom call. Trustee and Member Secretary Sara Zaker, Trustee Mofidul Haque, Journalist and Chairman of Cosmos Foundation Enayet Ullah Khan and Festival Director Tarek Ahmed spoke on the occasion. Many local and foreign documentary makers, journalists and film enthusiasts also joined the event via Zoom.
According to the Liberation War Museum, interested participants from jhome and abroad will be able to watch these documentaries for free. But they have to get registered first.
