Committee for Concern Citizen (CCC), a concern organisation of Transparency International (TI) Bangladesh, arranged an online dialogue with the health department in Jhenaidah on overcoming the coronavirus pandemic.
The dialogue was held on Tuesday aiming at meet the challenges during the Covid-19 havoc with CCC president Sayedul Alam in the chair. Civil surgeon also the member secretary of Covid-19 prevention committee Dr. Salina Begum attended as chief guest. Medical officer of the office of the civil surgeon office, also corona spokesman Dr. Pasenjit Biswas Partaha, CCC vice president Saiful Mabud, members Abu Taher, TI Bangladesh senior programme officer Kazi Shafiqur Rahman and area manager Baakhtiar Hossain participated in the discussion.
The participants opined that the coronavirus is a big challenge before the nation. They placed 14 point demand to improve the quality of services by the hospital, as well as covid 19 centre as it is widely utilized for treating and servicing the people in the district.
Improve and increase un-interrupt supply of oxygen cylinder and other equipments, ensure adequate beds for covid 19 patients, arrange activate ventilator, central oxygen, private hospital should be prepared for treating the infected patients abide government hospitals and punish them who deny to treat and serve the corona patients.
The discussion also emphasized on easy access of the media activists for collecting information and distribute face mask and sanitizer among the poor free of cost.
