An octogenarian woman died of diarrhoea in Chuadanga on Sunday. Moreover, 50 other diarrhoea patients were admitted in Chuadanga Sadar Hospital on Sunday and Monday.
The deceased was identified as Asia Khatun, 80, daughter of Ashraf Ali, resident of Baganpara in Chuadanga district town.
According to sources, a total of 50 diarrhoea patients including women, children and aged people have been admitted in Sadar Hospital for treatment.
Dr Nazmus Sakib, on duty medical officer in emergency department of the hospital, said Asia Khatun was admitted in the hospital for treatment of diarrhoea. Besides, she was suffering from different diseases. She died on June 23 at noon.
Dr. Wahid Mahmud Rabin, Residential Medical Officer of the hospital, said many patients are getting outdoor treatment of diarrhoea in the hospital every day.
Fast food and unhealthy street foods should be avoided to control diarrhoea, he added.
