One stop service launched to get police clearance quickly

Barishal Metropolitan Police Commissioner Saiful Islam BPM (Bar) said, from now on no one should be harassed for police clearance; police clearance certificate will be given within seven days. Apart from the government fee of five hundred Tk, no other money has to be spent. So that the poor people get police services easily, so that they do not get harassed, so that those going abroad do not have to visit the police station again and again. One Stop Police Clearance Service has been launched to ease the suffering of common people.

He said these things at the auspicious opening ceremony of One Stop Police Clearance Service at the BMP Commissioner's office at Amtala Mor Road in Barishal city. He also said that police clearance is a kind of service provided by Bangladesh Police to the people. A Clearance Certificate is generally required in case of going abroad for employment or higher studies/staying abroad.

BMP Commissioner said, the process of obtaining Police Clearance Certificate at One Stop Police Clearance Service is firstly the candidate has to collect a bank treasury challan of Tk 500/- in Code No. 1730100012681 of Sonali Bank Corporate Branch, Barishal. Later, if the applicant arrives at the One Stop Police Clearance Service Desk of the office along with the bank treasury challan copy of Tk.

He said that the application will be sent to the concerned police station quickly and will inform the applicant of the specific date of obtaining the police clearance certificate, which will be provided to the candidate on the said date. If a candidate wants to collect the Police Clearance Certificate himself, he can appear at the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Urban Special Branch), BMP, Barisal office and collect the Police Clearance Certificate by applying in the prescribed form.

He also said that many times when criminals want to flee abroad after committing serious crimes/terrorist activities in the country; it can be confirmed through police clearance. It is known through the police clearance whether there is any case against a person who wants to go abroad. Also, obtaining a work permit while staying abroad often requires police clearance.
