One stabbed to death In Cox's Bazar

In Cox's Bazar, in Koyar Bil of Kutubdia, a young man named Mostafa Bappi (27) was killed by a rival group in a stabbing attack stemming from a previous feud. Police have arrested one person suspected of involvement.

The incident occurred around 11:00 am on Sunday in the Koyar Bil Center area of Kutubdia upazila, according to Kutubdia Thana OC Mohammad Arman Hossain.

The deceased, Mostafa Bappi (27), was the son of Kaimul Huda from the Moti Baper Bari area of Ward No. 7 in Lemkhali Union, Kutubdia.

The arrested individual, Akhtar Hossain (29), is the son of Shafiqur Rahman from North Koyar Bil area of Koyar Bil Union.

Locals reported that Mostafa Bappi left his house in the morning and went to a local shop in the adjacent Koyar Bil Center area to have a snack. At that time, a person named Akhtar Hossain called him away from there.

Later, an argument ensued between Mostafa Bappi and another individual who arrived at the scene by an easy-bike. At one point during the argument, Bappi fell to the ground while trying to run away. Locals later rescued him in a bloody state and took him to the Kutubdia Upazila Health Complex. The duty doctor in the hospital's emergency department declared him dead.

The victim's mother stated that a long-standing feud has been ongoing for a long time among several individuals, including Riduwanuzzaman Helali, Arafat, Akhtar Hossain, and Rana from the adjacent area, centering around drug abuse and drug dealing in the area. They had been threatening her son Mostafa Bappi in various ways regarding this matter. On Sunday morning, when he went to a local shop in the Koyar Bil Center area to have a snack, the miscreants stabbed him to death.

Kutubdia Thana OC Mohammad Arman Hossain said that the body of the deceased has been sent to the Cox's Bazar District Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
