One killed in Chuadanga ‘cross fire’

A ‘drug trader’ was killed in a reported cross fire with police at Joyrampur village in Damurhuda upazila of the district on early Friday.  The deceased was identified as Rokon Ali, 35, son of Abu Bokor Siddique of village Dakkhin Chandpur in Damurhuda upazila of the district. 

Shukumar Biswas, OC of Damurhuda police station said a gunfight took place   between two groups of drug businessmen. On information, a team of police, led by sub inspector Milton, rushed to the spot. Sensing the presence of police both groups fired on police, then police returned fire. The gun battle continued half an hour. Rokon fell in fire line. Other accomplices fled away, leaving bullet hit Rokon alone. 

Police recovered one country made LG, 2 bullets, phensidyle and two sharp weapons.  Bullet injured Rokon was taken to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital where on duty doctor declared him dead. The body is now under police custody for postmortem.  Shukumar Biswas, OC also said he is accused in 10 case including dacoities , snatching, smugglings.
