Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested an alleged illegal arms peddler with seven foreign pistols, five one shooter guns, 13 magazines and 40 bullets from Dhuppukur village under Shibganj upazila of the district last night, reports BSS.
The arrested person was identified as Md Alamin Khandakar, 25, son of late Hafizur of the aforesaid area. RAB said, acting on secret information, a team of RAB-5 from Chapainawabganj camp raided the aforesaid area around 8:30pm and arrested Alamin with the arms and ammunitions. Later, the arrested person was handed over to the police of Shibganj Thana. A case was filed in this connection, RAB added.
