Dhaka Customs House authority on Thursday nabbed one person with 6.60 kilograms (kg) of gold worth about Taka 3.21 crore from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the city, reports BSS.
The detainee was identified as Md Murshed Hossain, a passenger of QR-638 flight of Qatar Airways, which landed at the airport around 3 am on Thursday, Dhaka Customs House Assistant Commissioner Sajjad Hossen confirmed the matter.
Being informed, members of the Customs House detained Murshed from the airport’s green channel area around 3:30 am and recovered the gold from his possession, he said. Legal action has been taken against him.
