Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive arrested a man along with 20,000 pieces of Yaba tablet at Adomerjora area in Teknaf upazila on Friday night.
The arrestee was identified as Rafique Miah, 19, son of Abdur Rahim of Teknaf’s Nayapara area.
Commander of Teknaf BGB-2 Lt. Col Md Mohiuddin Ahmed confirmed the matter on Saturday afternoon.
Tipped off, a team of BGB conducted a raid at the Adomerjora area on Friday night and arrested Rafique Miah along with the Yaba tablets, said Lt. Col Md Mohiuddin Ahmed.
Drug dealers were organised. They jumped into the Naf River and fled to Myanmar after realising the drive by the BGB personnel, Mohiuddin Ahmed added.
Legal procedure will be taken against the detained person, he said.
