Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a presumed drug trader with 1,595 pieces of Yaba tablets from a remote village in Baliadangi upazila of Thakurgaon district on Friday evening.
“On a tip off, an operational team of RAB-13 conducted a raid there and arrested the man red-handed with the contraband Yaba tablets,” an official release said.
The detainee was identified as Md Shahid Ali, 33, of Thakurgaon district.
The elite force continues efforts to nab the other absconding cohorts of the arrested person.
During primary interrogation, the arrested person admitted that he had been involved in drug trading in connivance with his other partners for a long time.
“After filing a case in this connection against the arrested person, the elite force handed him over to Baliadangi police station in Thakurgaon district,” the release added.
