Rupganj Correspondent: Police in Rupganj, Narayanganj, have arrested a 50-year-old man named Nurul Islam on charges of raping a 13-year-old girl in Golakandail Union.
According to the complaint, the accused lured the victim, identified as Razia Sultana Rafiya, to an abandoned banana grove on the pretext of giving her money. There, he allegedly raped her. Following the incident, Rafiya’s father, Rasel Mia, filed a rape case with Rupganj Police Station.
After the assault, the suspect went into hiding. Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid and arrested Nurul Islam.
Tarikul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Rupganj Police Station, confirmed the arrest, stating, “Acting on a tip-off, we apprehended the rapist and later sent him to jail.”
