A court in Narail on Tuesday sentenced a man to death penalty and convicted three other men to life term on charge of their involvement in Mofi Sheikh murder case five years ago.
The court also fined the life term awardees taka 50,000, in default to suffer six months more jail. Two of the accused have been acquitted as the allegations have not been substantiated.
District and Session judge of Narail Munshi Md.Moshier Rahman pronounced the verdict in presence of death sentenced and convicted persons in the court. The death sentenced awarded was identified as Jaminur Rahman Molla, son of Lutfar Rahman Molla resident of Bhabanipur village in sadar upazila of Narail district.The another life term three convicts were identified as Saddam Hossen Shuvo, Sahid Molla and Satter Molla who are resident of same village in Narail sadar upazila. Public Prosecutor of Narail judge court Md. Emdadul Islam confirmed the matter.
