A man named Azim was electrocuted in Islampur of Jamalpur on Friday morning. The accident took place at Rouharkanda village in Islampur municipal town.
After being rescued by the locals and taken to Islampur Health Complex, on-duty doctor Abir Ahmed Soumit declaired Azim dead. Azim was the son of Sada Sheikh of the area.
Brother of the deceased Arif said that Azim Sheikh went to cut grass near the irrigation pump near his house around 8 am on Friday. At one stage of mowing the grass, he was electrocuted and seriously injured when he touched the water of the irrigation pump.
Locals rescued him and took him to the Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
