One more Covid-19 patient died and 23 fresh cases were diagnosed in Rangpur division during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am on Monday.
Health officials said the new Covid-19 related casualty was reported from Rangpur district raising the total number of fatalities to 1,287 in the division.
The 23 fresh cases were reported after testing 136 samples at the positivity rate of 16.91 percent in the division where the pandemic situation continued to deteriorate since June 22 last.
The 23 new Covid-19 patients include two from Rangpur, nine from Nilphamari and three each from Panchagarh, Lalmonirhat, Thakurgaon and Dinajpur districts in the division.
"With the diagnosis of the 23 fresh cases, the total number of Covid-19 patients rose to 64,763 in the division," Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Abu Md. Zakirul Islam told BSS today.
Meanwhile, the total number of recovered Covid-19 patients rose to 62,954 in the division with the healing of 54 more patients during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am today.
In the meantime, more 23,338 doses of Covid-19 jabs were administered on Sunday raising the total number of inoculated vaccines to three crore six lakh 25 thousand and 144 doses in the division.
"Among the total administered Covid-19 jabs, 1,35,66,848 doses were inoculated as the first doses, 1,29,67,538 as the second doses and 40,90,755 as the booster doses," Dr. Islam added.
He urged common people to abide by the health directives and hygiene rules to remain safe as the Covid-19 pandemic situation is deteriorating again in Rangpur division.
