In an anti-drug operation conducted by the 9 Armed Police Battalion (APBN) in the Chandgaon area of Chattogram city, 52 Yaba tablets, 160 grams of marijuana, and Tk 430 in drug sale proceeds were seized. A suspected drug dealer was arrested during the raid.
The Commanding Officer of the 9 APBN, Mohammad Shamsul Islam Akand, confirmed the information in a press release issued to the media on Friday.
According to Armed Police sources, Arafat Hossain (28) was arrested from the deep tube well area of a rented property owned by Shamsu Company, located at the beginning of Kaptai Road under Chandgaon Police Station. The seized items included 52 pieces of Yaba, 160 grams of marijuana, and Tk 430 believed to be from drug sales.
The operation was led by Assistant Superintendent of Police Anshu Kumar Deb of the 9 APBN, with the assistance of Police Inspector Mohammad Omar Haider, Sub-Inspector Mohammad Omar Faruk, and other police personnel.
A case has been filed against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act at Chandgaon Police Station in Chattogram.
