Police have arrested a man named Rezaul Haque (44) with 52 cannabis plants from Shoilamari village under Darshana Police Station in Chuadanga. He was detained early Sunday morning by officers from Begumpur Police Camp.
Rezaul Haque is the son of Amzad Mondal from the same village.
According to Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahid Titumir of Darshana Police Station, a tip-off led police to suspect cannabis cultivation in Shoilamari village. Acting on this information, Sub-Inspector Morshed Ali, along with his team from Begumpur Police Camp, conducted a raid and arrested Rezaul.
The team recovered 52 cannabis plants of varying sizes from his homestead garden, located just east of his house. The total weight of the seized plants is estimated to be around 15 kilograms.
A case has been filed against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act at Darshana Police Station.
