Police have arrested Efaz Ali (50) a bricklayer in Jamalpur Sadar Upazila on charges of raping a 5-year-old girl at Medina Brickfield.
The deceased was identified as Efaz Ali, son of Ali Akand of Maizbari area of Mahadan union of Sarishabari upazila. The incident took place at Medina brickfield in Vela Pingalhati village of Shahbazpur union of Sadar upazila on Tuesday night.
The mother of the child said that she had been cooking with the child in that brick kiln for the last three months. Their home is in Keshabpur area of Jessore district.According to the child's mother and locals, the accused Efaz Ali raped the child by tempting her to buy bread. Jamalpur Sadar Police Station OC Rezaul Islam Khan said that one person has been arrested in connection with the incident. A case is being filed in this regard.
