Sale of 5 kg of rice to each person at the price of 30 taka per kg has been started in Munshiganj district like the rest of the country. Deputy Commissioner Kazi Nahid Rosul inaugurated the sale of rice at low price under OMS at Abul Hossain dealer point in Yoginighat area of Munshiganj Sadar on Thursday (September 1) at 10 am.
In Munshiganj City, Munshiganj Municipality, Mirkadim Municipality, Muktarpur Bisik Shilpanagari Area and other 15 places, dealers have started selling rice. Rice will be sold at Tk 30 on 5 days a week through 15 OMS dealers. This program will run from 9 am to 5 pm except holidays.
According to sources, the program will be ongoing for 3 months in the entire district under OMS. 6 lakh 60 thousand beneficiaries will get this rice in 3 months through 25 dealers.
Deputy Commissioner Kazi Nahid Rosul warned that strict measures will be taken against him if there is any kind of irregularity in this process.
