Bangladesh Olympic Association on Tuesday conferred a reception to archer Ruman Sana who has made history by directly qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The reception ceremony was held at the Olympic Bhaban in the capital’s Gulistan area. State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell attended the programme as chief guest. He greeted Ruman Sana with a bouquet of flowers and handed over a cheque for Tk 2 lakh to him on behalf of his ministry.
Bangladesh Olympic Association Syed Shahed Reza was also present in the function, among others. Ruman is the second Bangladeshi athlete to qualify the Olympics directly after ace golfer Siddikur Rahman. Siddikur earned the Olympic quota for the Rio Olympics in 2016.
