The unfortunate victim is Shyamla Begum, wife of late Abdul Sabur Miah of Hakimpur village in Dapnajor of Kashil UP district.
Shyamla Begum applied for the power line at the end of 2014 under the Bangladesh Power Development Board (PDB) Tangail Sales and Distribution Division-1.
Recently, the power department handed over a bill of Tk 1,14,627 in the name of Shyamla Begum against the irrigation pump. This is not the end. Tangail Executive Engineer Office Sales and Distribution Division-1 (BUBO) Assistant Engineer Saimum Shibli also filed a case with the Tangail Magistrate (Joint District and Sessions Judge) Power Court.
Defendant Shyamla Begum has been directed to appear in court on September 14 in the case.
In this regard, Shyamla Begum said, where can I get justice for this harassment?
Local UP member Mohsinuzzaman said that although Shyamla Begum applied for the power line, the power authority did not provide any of the poles, wires and connections. But there have been cases of defaulting electricity bills. I am demanding the release of old Shyamla Begum from this case.
