The three-day International Scientific Conference and the 46th Annual Meeting of the Obstetrical and Gynecological Society of Bangladesh (OGSB) have begun in Cox's Bazar on Wednesday.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque inaugurated the conference on Wednesday on the shores of Inani beach in Cox’s Bazar. OGSB President Prof Sameena Chowdhury presided over the conference. Additional Director General of Health Service Division, Dr Nasima Sultana, Joint Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Ministry, Dr A M Parvez Rahim and Line Director of Health Service Division, Dr Gazi Shamsul Alam were the special guests of the event.
In his speech, Health Minister said that, Health Service in Bangladesh has ascended to international standard because of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s capable leadership. Prime Minister received the “Vaccine Hero” award as a recognition of her contribution. OGSB has also contributed to this achievement.
Health Service in Bangladesh will be further improved. Community Clinics are being set and new doctors are being deployed in this regard. Soon eight Cancer institutes in eight divisions of the country and Kidney dialysis center will be set, he added.
For extraordinary health service five distinguished doctors from Bangladesh and other countries were Awarded in the event. Freedom fighter Dr Sufia Begum received with ‘Bijoy 71’ honor. Doctors from different countries are attending the conference organized by Incepta Pharmaceutical.
