An 87-year-old person spontaneously went to polling center to cast his vote in the second phase of Upazila Parishad polls at Kahalu in Bogura on Tuesday.
The octogenarian, Hasen Mondol, cast his at Shitlai Government Primary School at Kahalu Upazila in the district at 10:00am.
After casting his vote, he expressed elation and said, “The environment of the polling center is good and I cast my vote properly.”
“I have come to cast vote as it is a holy thing. I would feel guilty if I didn’t come to cast vote. I will exercise the rights of casting vote until my death as it is a holy matter. I have cast my vote in a decent atmosphere.”
The polling in Kahalu, Dupchachia and Adamdighi Upazilas of the district began on Tuesday as a part of the second phase of sixth Upazila Parishad elections across the country.
