Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that the OCs may be ‘inclined’ to someone in the election, considering this the Election Commission has given instructions to transfer them.
He said this in response to questions from reporters after the special show of the film “Mujib: The Making of a Nation” at Krishibid Institution Auditorium on Sunday.
Home Minister said the Election Commission is an independent body. Whenever an election comes, everything from our security forces to the declaration of the schedule is entrusted to the Election Commission.
The Election Commission feels that those who have been as OC for a long time may be inclined (loyal) to someone to conduct fair elections in the country, he added.
He said “Such consideration of OCs belongs to the Election
Commission, not ours. That is why they have transferred OCs across the country. OCs are working all over the country as per the decision of Election Commission.”
