Obaidul Quader hands over 9 BRTC buses to 8 institutions

Road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader handed over nine buses of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation to eight educational institutions at a programme in Dhaka on Sunday.
While addressing the programme, the minister said that the buses were given to the institutions following a promise of the prime minister, Sheikh Hasina.
He also urged the authorities concerned and students of the institutions to use the vehicles properly.
The educational institutions are — Eden Mohila College in Dhaka, Government Titumir College in Dhaka, Kumudini Government College in Tangail, Shamsul Haque Khan School and College in Dhaka, Khulna Government Women College, Bandarban Government College, Bandarban Government Women College and Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University in Tangail.
Of the institutions, only Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University gets two BRTC buses.
All these nine double-decker buses have been included in the corporation fleet recently under the Indian Line of Credit.
The minister also said that they were trying to check irregularities in BRTC. So far, a total of 51 BRTC buses have been handed over to 32 educational institutions across the country.
