Oasis kicks off historic reunion tour in Cardiff

Oasis made a triumphant return as they kicked off their long-awaited reunion tour in Cardiff after 16 years. The band sounded refreshed, tearing into classics like Cigarettes and Alcohol, Live Forever, and Slide Away, as 70,000 fans sang along in a show of pure nostalgia.

Opening with Hello — its chorus of “it’s good to be back” feeling especially fitting — Liam and Noel Gallagher delivered a powerful set of crowd favourites. The brothers, long estranged, seemed to put their feud aside, with fans emotional to see them share a stage once again.

Liam commanded the stage with fierce energy while the audience erupted to Wonderwall and Don’t Look Back In Anger. Even Noel’s guitar solos were sung back by the crowd during Live Forever, which the band dedicated to Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota.

The night was packed with classics: Some Might Say, Supersonic, Whatever, Rock 'n' Roll Star, and more. The band’s 2025

line-up includes Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs and Gem Archer on guitar, Andy Bell on bass, and Joey Waronker on drums.

While the brothers barely spoke to each other, just hearing them harmonise again moved the crowd. Liam addressed the high ticket prices jokingly, asking, “Is it worth the £4,000 you paid for a ticket?”

Fans came from across the world, from Japan to Peru, while Cardiff’s streets overflowed with bucket hats and Oasis tracksuits. Inside, the setlist stayed mostly in the 90s, with only one song from after 2000.

Though the wild danger of their early days was gone, the hunger and passion were back. From the response in Cardiff, Oasis’s comeback is everything fans hoped for — and more.
