BBC Radio has started a year-long program to celebrate the golden jubilee of independence. It will consistently highlight 50 young people of this generation. Almost all of them are associated with Bangladeshi culture in various ways even from abroad, Bangladeshi actress Nusrat Faria name is in this list.
According to the organizers, their main focus in this celebration is to highlight the work and achievements of the young generation of Bangladeshi descent in Britain. Bringing their stories to the forefront in establishing themselves in various spheres of British life. At the same time, their views on various issues of Bangladesh and how they view the Bangladeshi tradition.
Although Nusrat Faria is originally from the country, she was added to the list because she studied at the University of London. She is a law student at this university. Regarding this she said, "It's really honourable. Most of the young people who took part in the event lived in the UK. I am also honoured to have my name in the list of successful emerging Qataris.
Ahmed Hussein, head of the BBC Radio Asian Network, said, we want to look not only at the 50 years of independence, but also at the next 50 years. There are still people of that generation who remember the war of independence of Bangladesh.
