The government has appointed Professor Dr. Md. Nurul Huda Lanin as the principal of Sir Salimullah Medical College in the capital. Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued a notice on his appointment recently.
Prior to that, he was the Director of the National Institute of Kidney Diseases and Urology (NIKDU). Earlier he was also the Registrar of Dhaka Medical College and Assistant Professor of Sir Salimullah Medical College.
In a response to his appointment as principal, Nurul Huda Lanin said, "I have worked honestly and efficiently wherever the government has given me responsibilities. I want to serve relentlessly for the welfare of the people till my death. ”
“Since taking over as the director of the NIKDU, the institution has achieved tremendous development. With the joint efforts of all, the quality of medical services there has increased manifold. As a result, the institute has been ranked as the best institute in terms of services in the survey of the Ministry of Health.
Similarly, all of my efforts will be made for the development of Salimullah Medical College. Moreover, being a former student of this college, my responsibility has increased a lot,” he added.
Nurul Huda said, “I will continue to work honestly and efficiently for the overall development of the college including ensuring quality learning environment for the students as well as enhancing the quality of medical services. I will strive to make Salimullah Medical College one of the best institutions in the country. I am seeking the cooperation of all concerned for this. ”
Nurul Huda Lalin is a son of ideal teacher late. Abdul Khaleque Mollah and Homera Begum in Sultanshahi village of Gopalganj district.
After passing SSC in 1981 and HSC in 1983, Lalin was admitted to Salimullah Medical College. He achieved fifth position in the combined merit list of MBBS examination. After passing the 11th BCS, Lalin started his career as a medical officer of Moksedpur Upazila Health Complex.
