An organization called ‘Nursing Midwifery Reform Parishad’ has observed a strike in various hospitals of Chittagong demanding the removal of BCS officials from various important positions including the Director General of the Directorate of Nursing and Midwifery.
The organisation staged the programme in various hospitals of the city, including Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Earlier, they observed a strike on October 1.
Despite the strike, the hospital's emergency department, emergency OT, ICU, CCU, dialysis, PICU labour ward and other units are exempt from this programme.
Ibrahim Khalil, senior staff nurse of the Hospital, said, "Our movement is going on with a one-point demand. On October 1, our movement was temporarily suspended due to the assurance of meeting the demands.
But due to the lack of full implementation of the demands, the central committee decided to go on strike again. As a part of this, I observed a four-hour strike on Tuesday.
