Palestinian Ambassador to Bangladesh Yousef SY Ramadan on Thursday said that Gono Odhikar Parishad member secretary Nurul Haque Nur held three secret  meetings with Israel's spy agency Mossad in Qatar, Dubai and India.

The ambassador made this claim while responding to a question of journalists at the Palestinian embassy in Dhaka.

The ambassador said that Mossad had three rounds of meetings with Nur in Qatar, Dubai and India.

“We have got the footage of the meetings from our intelligence agency. The issue came to our attention during the World Cup Football tournament in Qatar which was held in November-December last year”, he said.

Ambassador Yousef SY Ramadan said if Nur denies his meeting with Mossad it is good for Palestine. But if the matter is true it is a threat to the security of Bangladesh.

The ambassador added that people who take money from Israel can never be a  leader. Such a leader cannot bring welfare to the country.

The Palestinian embassy organised the press conference to inform the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) food aids for the Rohingyas.

The ambassador said that the Rohingyas are facing food crisis. OIC will provide food aid to 4,000 Rohingyas.

Gono Odhikar Parishad Convener Dr Reza Kibria on Sunday also brought allegations against Nur saying he maintained communications with the embassy of a neighbouring country and of holding a meeting with Mossad. Reza Kibria also raised questions on the transparency of the party’s funds.

According to the informed sources,  Nur has been hatching conspiracy with Mossad to oust the Awami League government.

A photo of Nur and Mossad agent Mendi N Safadi, who is also a member of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party, was published in various newspapers, online portals and in the social media.

Sources said the meeting that took place in Dubai also aimed to conspire against Bangladesh and run propaganda against the country.

Nur, a former vice-president of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU), went abroad in the name of performing Umrah in Saudi Arabia.

Bangladesh did not recognise Israel as a state and has no diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Nur’s meeting of the Israeli spy and taking pictures with him has raised questions in people’s mind whether he has taken a stand against the state.

After the photo of Nur and Mendi was published, many say that Nur is hatching conspiracy against the state with the agents of various intelligence agencies by traveling abroad in the name of performing Umrah.

Sources also said that Nur visited Qatar and Dubai where he had a meeting with a businessman who fled the country after embezzling a huge amount of money from a bank.

During his Dubai visit, he came on a Facebook Live and delivered various provocative speeches.

A sedition complaint was also filed against Nur at a police station in Sylhet.

Emon Ahmed, secretary of the Sylhet district unit of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Mancha lodged the complaint with Kotwali police station.

The complaint said Nur held a secret meeting with an individual named Mendi N Safadi, apparently an agent of Israel's intelligence agency Mossad, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). "It seems that Nur has been involved in a conspiracy to unseat the elected government in Bangladesh," it added.

It also said he is actually conspiring to create division among Bangladeshis, its government and the holy religion Islam by handshaking with the Mossad agent by going abroad in the name of holy Kaaba Sharif Tawaf.
