Since the beginning of the outbreak people have always been skeptical about the effectiveness of Bangladeshi medical countermeasures in regards to modern western treatment that most people often resolve to opt for.

We have seen this in many cases when general treatment is needed. But this time the country’s health workers and physicians have shown their mettle in proving their strength in the fight against Covid-19.

A recent report published in the daily shows that 34,027 patients made full recovery as of Monday since the outbreak of the coronavirus in Bangladesh on March 8. In other words, the number of healthy patients has increased to 15,296 in one day.

This is a huge number in terms of recovered patients. But, it is not enough to fully counter the impact of Covid-19 in the country.

We think that the zone-wise lockdown that

the government has imposed will be a

fulcrum point where the condition in the

country will turn around for the positive

But nevertheless, this is a great number of cured patients and it can be said that we empathize with the family members and patients who have supported and suffered through this ordeal.

As the number of healthy patients has increased, so has the rate of recovery. As of June 14, the recovery rate among infected patients in Bangladesh was 21.4 percent.

Then it rose to 36.55 percent. This huge jump is not because of some magic, rather as per health directorate this is the number of patients that have recovered in their homes which had been put into the system in 24 hours that made this huge spike.

The ratio of patients versus recovered has substantially been balanced. But still compared to the number of infected that are being detected per day, this will not take very long to engulf the whole country.

In this moment we think that the zone-wise lockdown that the government has imposed will be a fulcrum point where the condition in the country will turn around for the positive.

We hope that the public and authorities concerned will cooperate with each other to bring the death toll down in these trying times.
