The number of patients infected with coronavirus is increasing in Sylhet. 78 more coronaviruses have been identified on Wednesday. Their results was identified in the PCR lab of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College on Wednesday.
Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital Deputy Director Dr Himanshu Lal Roy confirmed the matter. With this, the number of victims in Sylhet exceeded two thousand. As of Wednesday night, the total number of victims in Sylhet district is 2,022.
Among the victims, 64 were reported from Sylhet Sadar Upazila, one from Golapganj Upazila, one from Beanibazar Upazila, one from Moglabazar of SMP, two from Kanaighat Upazila and four from Bishwanath Upazila. One person from Baralekha Upazila, one from Chhatak Upazila, one from Chunarughat and one from Laksam Upazila in Cumilla and one from Sunamganj in Jalalabad Ragib-Babeya Medical College Hospital also received positive reports.
The global epidemic of coronavirus that spread from Wuhan, China on December 31 last year was found in Bangladesh on March 8. The first coronavirus was discovered in Sylhet division on April 5. Since then, the number of patients infected with coronavirus has been increasing in Sylhet division every day.
In the last 24 hours, the number of patients affected by corona in Sylhet division has increased to 3,737 with 28 new ones from Sunamganj and 78 from Sylhet. The worst affected district is Sylhet and the least affected is Moulvibazar district. 2,022 people were affected in Sylhet district and 355 in Moulvibazar. On the other hand, a total of 896 people were affected in Sunamganj district and 464 people in Habiganj district.
On the other hand, the number of recovered patients is increasing day by day in Sylhet division. On April 27, two patients returned home after overcoming coronavirus in Sunamganj. After that, patients from different districts of the division are returning home every day after recovering from corona. The total number of recovered patients in Sylhet division stood at 814 till 12 noon on Wednesday. Of these, 271 in Sylhet district, 230 in Sunamganj, 182 in Habiganj and 131 in Moulvibazar have recovered from corona.
Meanwhile, a total of 60 people have died in four districts of Sylhet division till noon on Wednesday. Of these, 46 people lost their lives in Sylhet district alone and 5 in Sunamganj, 5 in Habiganj and 4 in Moulvibazar.
