Rooppur nuclear power plant in Pabna has observed 'Nuclear Day' on Monday.
The Ministry of Science and Technology celebrates the day that Bangladesh entred into the Atomic Club as the Nuclear Day.
On the occasion, various programmes were organized in the Rooppur nuclear power project area.
Besides, a public information center has been set up for the Rooppur nuclear power project, which was also officially inaugurated at the old building of Ishwardi Municipality in Pabna on the day.
Although no official rally was held this year due to the Corona situation, the Director of Rooppur Nuclear Power Project Dr. Shawkat Akbar inaugurated the programme by flying pigeons in the project area.
Officials from home and abroad working on the project and the Ministry of Science and Technology officials were present at the time.
Project Director Dr. Shawkat Akbar at the opening ceremony said, “Rooppur nuclear power project is a project of national pride. Through this project, Bangladesh has gained the honor of being a member of the Nuclear Club”.
