National University (NU) has suspended Thursday’s Degree Pass and Certificate Course second-year examinations due to heavy rainfall and an onrush of water from upstream that inundated different places in Feni and Noakhali districts.
The information was announced in a notification signed by Md Enamul Karim, Controller of Examinations of the university.
It was stated that the Degree Pass and Certificate Course examinations for the year 2023, scheduled to be held on Thursday, have been suspended, but all other examinations will be held as per the previously announced schedule.
The notice stated that Thursday’s (July 10) Degree Pass and Certificate Course second-year examinations for 2023 have been suspended. However, all other examinations will be held as per the previously announced schedule.
The notice also mentioned that the new schedule for the suspended examination will be announced later to those concerned.
Earlier this week, heavy monsoon rains coupled with water flowing in from the upstream rivers caused flash floods in different areas of Feni and Noakhali, disrupting normal life. Many roads, educational institutions, and examination centres were submerged, making it difficult for students and officials to travel safely. Local authorities have been working to restore communication and drainage systems in the affected areas. National University officials said the decision was taken considering the safety and convenience of students and examiners. The university urged students to stay updated through official notices.
