The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at North South University (NSU), in collaboration with the North South University Pharmaceutical Club (NSUPC), successfully concluded the two-day “Joya Sanitary Napkin presents Pharma Fest 2025” on November 6, setting a new benchmark for academic excellence, innovation, and industry collaboration in Bangladesh’s pharmaceutical landscape.
The festival opened on November 5 with an exclusive Industrial Advisory Board and Leaders’ Meetup, where industry pioneers engaged in high-level discussions on the evolving challenges of the health and pharmaceutical sectors. The evening came alive with a nostalgic Alumni Night, reuniting graduates and current students for an exchange of memories and mentorship.
The grand opening ceremony on November 6 featured inspiring remarks from Dr. Mohammad Hossain Shariare, Chairman of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Dipak Kumar Mitra, Dean of the School of Health and Life Sciences. Special guests included Prof. Abdur Rob Khan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (In-Charge) and Treasurer; Mr. M.A. Kashem, and Mr. Aziz Al Kaiser (Tito), Chairman of NSU’s Board of Trustees.
Industry leaders such as Mr. Sayef Nasir, Managing Director of SMC Enterprise Ltd., and Mr. Syed S. Kaiser Kabir, CEO and Managing Director of Renata PLC, delivered powerful speeches on leadership, innovation, and women’s health, emphasizing ethical growth and entrepreneurship in pharmacy.
The day-long Pharma Exhibition 2025 drew wide acclaim for its creative and research-driven displays, reflecting NSU’s commitment to hands-on learning and industrial collaboration.
The closing ceremony, chaired by NSU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, featured distinguished guests including Ms. Zareen Karim of Orion Pharma and Mr. Md. Nasser Shahrear Zahedee of Radiant Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Awards, accolades, and a vibrant cultural program brought the curtain down on a memorable event that celebrated innovation, collaboration, and the bright future of Bangladesh’s pharmaceutical sciences.
