NSTU to give exams online from July

Authorities of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) have decided to take the semester exams in online from July.

On Thursday, this information was published by the university officials. The decision to take online exams was taken at a meeting of the university's academic council on Wednesday.  

Confirming the matter, Md. Shafiqul Islam, Controller of Examinations of the University, said that the online exams will start from the first week of July. The exam is divided into 2 phase, written and viva.  

In written, there are 40 marks containing 30 marks in descriptive question answers and 10 marks in MCQ and finally 30 marks in Viva. The total time will be 4 hours. 1 hour and 15 minutes will be given for written tests and MCQ. 

Then the students will get 15 minutes to send the written answers in PDF. The students have to answer 6 questions and each will contain 5 marks. After submission of written tests, the students have to attend viva exams and total time of the viva will be 2 hours 30 minutes.

He added, the students have to use their own institutional mails to submit their answers.They have  to open their camera as the answer script and face can be identified clearly. The teachers will get training about the exam and they will train the students about online exam by 30 June. 

It is to be mentioned that the university authorities conducted meeting in 6 June where they decided to take exams from July but not decided about exam process if it will held in online or in campus. 

Previously, the authorities postponed exams from 23 February of this year according to decision of Education Ministry.
