An absentee funeral prayers for advocate Saiful Islam Alif was held at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) on Wednesday in front of the Central Shaheed Minar of the university.
Students later protested against the attack and killing of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif, which occurred in Chattogram on Tuesday. The incident was allegedly carried out by agitators demanding the release of Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari.
Shakhawat Sayeem, a student participated in the funeral, said, "India is constantly conspiring against our country. I want to tell the organizations working to implement India’s agenda that they will not be allowed to do so in Bangladesh. We must establish social policies and national politics based on love for Bangladesh."
Another student, Mahedi Hasan, added, "Those who manipulate people using minority issues will not be tolerated. Support for India will not be tolerated in our country. We pray for the forgiveness of Shaheed Alif's soul."
