NSC’s 25 year concession to BFF

Published : 20 Nov 2023 08:07 PM

Re-installation of artificial turf is required in the field adjacent to Bir Shresh Shaheed Sepoy Mustafa Kamal Stadium and Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Bhawan. For this reason, BFF applied to the National Sports Council (NSC) to take the lease of two facilities for another 25 years. The NSC reviewed the application and approved it. Through a formal letter of consent, the governing body of the sport has granted FIFA permission to use the two facilities for the next 25 years on Monday.

The NS has added a condition to this new consent form. Although BFF can carry out football development and management activities, it cannot do any commercial work. BFF has to use this facility for 25 years subject to this condition.

After receiving the consent letter from the NSCl will now negotiate with FIFA. The turf will be installed with FIFA funding.

One of the conditions of FIFA is that ownership or use of land must be under the federation. All the national institutions of Bangladesh are under the NSC. With the permission of the NSC, now there is no obstacle to the implementation of the FIFA project by the Football Federation.

It will take a few more months to complete the Buff formalities with FIFA. Turf restoration will begin in February-March of the New Year.  Secretary Parimal Singh and BFF General Secretary Imran Hosne were present during the exchange of letters of consent.
