None died from starving in this pandemic due to PM’s leadership

Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim on Saturday said none has died from starving amid any kind of disasters or coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic in the country as the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly for the betterment of the people, reports BSS.

“Due to the foresighted leadership of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, not a single person of the country has died without food during disasters and pandemic. Bangladesh has become a role model in poverty alleviation across the globe,” he said.

The minister was speaking at an online relief distribution programme on circuit house auditorium premises here as the chief guest.

In the virtual programme, a total of 250 bundles of corrugated iron sheets, Taka 7.5 lakh and 25 bicycles were distributed among the cyclone ‘Bulbul’-hit people.

Pirojpur Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Bashir Ahmed presided over the programme.

Deputy Commissioner Abu Ali Md Sajjad Hossain, Superintendent of Police Hayatul Islam Khan, District Awami League (AL) General Secretary Advocate Hakim Hawladar and other AL leaders were present on the occasion.
