None arrested in chairman candidate assault case

A chairman candidate of Kashipur union council under Fatulla model police station was assaulted by another chairman candidate fellow on October 30 night at his electioneering camp at Gedder Bazar area of Fatulla.

A criminal case has been recorded with Fatulla police in this regard mentioning three peoples named and hundred to hundred fifty unnamed.

According to the case story, Omor Faruk, a chairman candidate of Kashipur union, was sitting at his election camp on October 30. All on sudden, at around 10.30 pm another candidate Saifullah Badal’s son Sajon and others hundred to hundred fifty hoodlums reached there by motor cycles and attacked Omor Faruk hit on head by pistol stock and tortured him and his activists with iron rod.

Eyewitness sources claimed that Saifullah Badol’s son Sajon and nephew Sowrob headed a gang ride on at least 40 motorbikes and went to attack Omor Faruk at 10 pm on October 30.

It is mentioned that four chairman aspirants purchased nomination forms for election in Kashipur union. Two candidates had already withdrawn their candidature on the force of Saifullah Badol. Now only Omor Faruk is a contestant to Badol.

Officer in charge of Fatulla model police station Rokibuzzaman said the operation on identifying and arresting criminals is continuing.
