Candidates of triennial election of Narail District Truck, Trucktor, Cavard Van and Tanklory Workers Union submitted their nomination papers on Monday. The elections will be held on December 9.
Trade union sources said that Abul Kashem Mollah and Maruf Hassan Liton submitted nomination papers as president candidate while Abdur Rauf Mollah and Md Hadiduzzaman submitted nomination papers as general secretary candidate. Md. Ziaul Haque and Yusub Khandaker submitted nomination papers as executive president candidate, while Abdus Sattar and Md. Aminur Rahman are joint secretary candidate, Md. Rafiqul Islam and Md. Sariful Islam are assistant secretary candidate, Monaem Hossain and Nabir Hossain are organising secretary candidate, Mir Iqbal Hossain and Abdul Gaffer Mridha are treasurer candidate, Md. Asaduzzaman and Bonoet Sheikh are office secretary candidate, Md.Nazrul Islam and Swakat Ali are publicity secretary candidates,Md.Baizid Khan, Khalilur Rahman, Tariqul Islam, Delwar Hossain Liton, Aminur Rahman and Emrul Molla submitted nomination papers as executive member candidate.
Member of the union election commission and general secretary of District Bus Minibus Workers Union Chhadek Ahmed Khan, general secretary of the district bus-minibus owners association and panel mayor Kazi Zahirul Haque were present during nomination submission.
The Truck Workers Union announced the election schedule as the October 26 past in general meeting. According to the announced schedule, elections will be held at Narail Central Bus Terminal from 8 am to 4pm on December 9. Nomination papers Sorted November 19, withdrawal November 21 and symbol allocation November 23. A total of 2, 225 voters were enlisted to cast their vote.
