Renowned Bangladeshi filmmaker, Noman Robin, is set to captivate audiences at Bard College in New York with his thought-provoking film, "Blossoms from Ash". The film sheds light on the struggles faced by the Rohingya community and has garnered accolades globally.
Scheduled for screening on July 10, the event promises an insightful Q&A session where students can engage directly with the director. Aniruddha Mitra, Bard's Global and International Studies Programme Director, alongside visiting professor Fahmidul Haq, will facilitate the discussion.
Expressing his anticipation, Noman Robin shared, "Interacting with college students is both enriching and challenging as they offer valuable critiques and curiosity about my work."
Supported by The Blum Family Foundation and Circle Media International, the film is produced by Alex Blum, boasting cinematography by Sarun Manandhar. Its significance extends to receiving the Special Jury Remi Award in the US and being incorporated into PhD research at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC.
Adding to its reach, "Blossoms from Ash" has been available for viewing on Apple TV since January 2024.
Noman Robin, currently based in the United States, is already immersed in his next venture, a trilogy focusing on transgender narratives. The producer believes this endeavor to be groundbreaking on a global scale.
