Sell of newspapers have almost stopped due to corona virus spread. As a result, hawkers selling newspapers in different places of Noakhali are facing financial crisis.
Noakhali Municipal Mayor Shahid Ullah Khan Sohail handed over food items to 24 hawkers at Maizdi area of Noakhali town on Wednesday afternoon when media reports informed the Mayor about the condition of these helpless people.
Maintaining social distance the food items including rice, pulses, oil, onions, potatoes and soap were handed over to the hawkers in front of the municipality building.
The Mayor assured the hawkers of providing full support until the corona crisis comes under control. He also said that all those who have become unemployed in the municipal area will be provided food assistance in phases.
