Shapla Media's movie 'Prem Chor' produced by Selim Khan stars his son Shanto Khan as the protagonist. From the day the film was announced, it has been hit with criticisms one after another. Many claimed that Selim Khan simply showed off his wealth by casting his own son as the lead.

The heroine is Neha Amandeep from Kolkata. The producer wanted to grab everyone’s attention by casting his son opposite a foreign actor.

It was released on December 6th across 50 theaters in the country. Though the film was made with a big budget, it could not capture the audience’s hearts. In the end there was no saving the film. The film had embarrassingly low levels of ticket sales since the first day of release. The same situation is prevailing across all the halls that the film is playing at. The film tanked at the box office as no one is going to see it.

Sadly, the film was made with a big budget and directed by Uttam Akash. Outside Dhaka, 'Prem Chor' is being played in the traditional Manihar movie hall in Jashore. The owner of the hall, Mithu said, ‘The story of the movie, the new hero, the foreign heroine should have been promoted better. When a new pair is cast, it has to be presented well. This film was not well made. I was disappointed to run it. One show had a maximum audience of 120. We have 4 shows a day. All the shows are a loss for us. '

The movie is going on at the Mymensingh Army Auditorium. Hall manager Nazmul Haque said, ‘The film has not been doing well since the first show. We stopped playing the movie since day two because there was no audience. '

Both Modhumita and Anondo Cinema Hall expressed their disappointment with the film. The theater was empty from the first show. The hall authorities claimed that this is very unusual. No one is going to watch the film. But they are still running it as there are no other films.

'Prem Chor' is also being played at Jonaki, Chitromohol, BGB halls and there is no audience for the film. Meanwhile, at a time when the halls are vacant, the production company is claiming that 'Prem Chor' is doing well. The protagonist of the film expressed satisfaction with the response of the viewers to the media.

The film has become a laughing stock of the film industry. Authorities concerned are frustrated with how poorly the film was made. Many have claimed that Shapla Media owner Selim Khan went into hiding after the casino raid began in the country. There might have been better promotion of the film had he been around during the film’s release.
